Help & FAQ
Saving and recovery
Is my plan saved?
Yes — automatically, a moment after every change. The top bar shows “Saved on this device”. Press Ctrl/⌘+S to force a save.
I made a mistake. Can I go back?
Use Undo (Ctrl/⌘+Z) for recent changes. For older states, open the ••• menu → Version history: a copy is kept every few minutes and before every import, auto-seat or room setup. Restoring keeps a copy of the current state too.
How do I move my plan to another computer or phone?
Download a backup (top bar → Backup), send the file to yourself, then on the other device open the planner → plan name → Open a backup file. Or use ••• → Send a copy to get a link.
What if I clear my browser data?
Plans are stored by your browser, so clearing site data deletes them. Keep a recent backup file — the planner reminds you when you last downloaded one (hover the save status).
I have the planner open in two tabs.
To stop one tab overwriting the other, the second tab pauses saving and asks you to reload. Work in one tab at a time.
Importing guests
What can I paste?
Rows copied from Google Sheets, Excel or Numbers, a CSV file, or just names one per line. Column names like Name, First, Last, Household, RSVP, Meal, Dietary, Table and Notes are recognised; you can change any column’s meaning before importing. Excel files need saving as CSV first, or simply copy and paste the cells.
How are couples and plus-ones handled?
“John & Jane Smith”, “Mr and Mrs Smith” and similar become two linked guests. “+1”, “and guest” or a Plus-one column adds a placeholder “Guest of …” seat, linked to the host.
Seating
How do I seat people on a phone?
Tap guests to select them, then tap Seat at… and choose a table — or switch to Room and tap the table. You can also long-press and drag.
What does auto-seat do?
It fills empty seats group by group, keeping households and “sit with” pairs together and honouring “keep apart” rules. It never moves people you’ve already seated, and it can be undone.
Printing
How do I get a poster-size PDF?
Print studio → Seating chart sign → pick the size → Print or save as PDF → choose “Save as PDF”. The PDF page is the true size (e.g. 24 × 36 in). Send it to a print shop and ask for 100% scale.
My cards print the wrong size.
In the print dialog, set Scale to 100% (not “Fit to page”) and Margins to None. Chrome and Edge give the most accurate results.
A guest changed tables after I printed.
Open Print studio → Escort or Place cards. It lists cards changed since your last print and can print only those.
