About Tablewright
Tablewright is a small, independent tool for one job: getting everyone you love into the right seat, and printing it beautifully.
Why it exists
Seating plans are where wedding planning gets personal. The guest list, the family history, the allergies, the friend who isn’t speaking to another friend. Most tools ask you to upload all of that to an account, reformat your spreadsheet to their columns, and then retype everything into a separate design tool to print the sign.
We wanted the opposite: paste your list as it is, seat people with rules that remember the politics, print every piece from the same list, and keep the whole thing on your own device.
What we believe
- Your guest list is yours. It stays in your browser. No account, no upload.
- Everything advertised works. If it’s on this site, you can use it today, free.
- Print quality matters. A seating chart is décor, a keepsake and a photograph. It should look like it came from a stationer.
How it stays free
The planner costs very little to run because your data lives with you rather than on our servers. In future we may offer optional extras — such as printed boards delivered to your door — but the planner, templates and exports you can use today will remain free.
How we write guides
- Practical first. Every guide answers a question couples ask while seating guests, with steps you can act on that evening.
- Checked, not guessed. Table sizes, card formats and print sizes reflect common venue, rental and stationery conventions; where venues differ, we say so and tell you what to ask. Calculators show their method.
- Drawn with real geometry. Floor plans and table drawings are produced by the same code as the planner, at real scale.
- No paid placements. We don’t accept payment to mention products. Comparisons cite where each fact came from and when we checked it.
- Kept current. Each guide shows when it was last updated. Spotted something wrong? Tell us and we’ll correct it.
